HARPER'S BAZAAR - YEAR 101

AVEDON

BARON DE MEYER

Bazaar Starts it's 101st year

"Bazaar's history of photography and art reads like a museum program. The Early days produced the great works of Baron de Meyer and Hoyningen-Heune and Bazaar started the new school of photography with Avedon. Artists such as Cocteau and Dali covered collections for Bazaar to catch a new spirit. As for literature, writers such as Edith Sitwell, Colette, Carson McCullers, Albert Camus found a warm, gracious and proper atmosphere for their work."
